About these Terms
These Terms of Use govern your access to xmusicled.space and the XMusicLED browser-based music practice tools (the “Service”). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
The Service is intended for music practice and experimentation. It is not a substitute for professional instruction, and results will depend on your equipment, browser, setup and practice.
What the Service offers
The currently available practice mode lets you open MusicXML scores or use included scores, choose a part, follow falling notes, pause and repeat passages, and play with a computer keyboard or a compatible MIDI keyboard. Optional Logitech RGB lighting requires a compatible keyboard and the separate Device Hub software.
The LED strip, multiplayer arena, player profiles and leaderboards described on the website are in development. Descriptions, illustrations and proposed release plans for those features are not a promise that they will be released or that any particular hardware will be supported.
Your scores and other content
You retain the rights you have in scores you open with the Service. You are responsible for having the rights or permission needed to obtain and use those scores. Do not use the Service to infringe another person's copyright or other rights.
Imported MusicXML files are processed in your browser as described in the Privacy Policy. Keep your own copies of your files and settings; the Service is not a backup or storage service. Scores supplied with the Service may have separate copyright or license terms, and their availability does not grant you permission to redistribute them.
Permission to use the Service
You may use the Service for lawful music practice. This permission is personal, non-exclusive and revocable. XMusicLED's software, design, name and other original materials remain the property of their respective owners. These Terms do not transfer intellectual property rights to you.
You must not interfere with the Service or other users, attempt unauthorized access, introduce malicious code, or use automated access in a way that disrupts the Service. You must not copy or modify the Service's software except where the law or an applicable open-source license permits it.
Browsers, MIDI and optional hardware
Some features require a supported browser, HTTPS, compatible devices or permissions that you choose to grant in your browser or operating system. Web MIDI and optional lighting may be unavailable or work differently across browsers and devices.
Device Hub is separate software that communicates with supported hardware. Follow the instructions and safety guidance supplied by the manufacturers of your computer, MIDI devices, keyboards and lighting equipment. You are responsible for your own hardware, connections and configuration. The Service does not guarantee compatibility with a particular device.
Privacy
Please read the XMusicLED Privacy Policy for information about local score processing, optional analytics and your privacy choices. The Privacy Policy is separate from these Terms.
Availability and changes
We may change, suspend or discontinue the Service or individual features, including experimental features. We aim to keep the Service available but do not guarantee uninterrupted access, error-free operation, preservation of browser-stored settings, or continued compatibility with any browser or device. We may restrict access where reasonably necessary to address misuse, security issues or legal requirements.
Disclaimers and liability
The Service is provided as available. To the extent permitted by applicable law, we do not make warranties about accuracy of score rendering, timing, device control, fitness for a particular purpose or uninterrupted operation. Check imported scores and device output before relying on them.
To the extent permitted by applicable law, we are not responsible for losses caused by use or unavailability of the Service, including lost scores, settings or practice progress, or problems with third-party devices and software. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability or consumer rights that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
Updates to these Terms
We may update these Terms as the Service changes. The current version will be posted on this page. If a change materially affects your use of the Service, we will provide notice where required by applicable law. Your use of the Service after updated Terms take effect means you accept them, unless applicable law requires a different form of consent.
